Brunei Darussalam Wood Product Expo
The Wood Products Expo (Ekspo Produk Perkayuan) is a flagship initiative organized by the Forestry Department, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (Ministry Primary Resources and Tourism), Brunei Darussalam, aimed at promoting locally manufactured wood products and supporting the growth of the country’s downstream timber industry. The expo serves as a strategic platform that are held once every 2 years to showcase the quality, craftsmanship, innovation, and commercial potential of Brunei-made wood products while increasing public awareness of the importance of sustainable forest resource utilization.
The event brings together wood product manufacturers, furniture makers, timber industry stakeholders, government agencies, entrepreneurs, and members of the public. Through product exhibitions, demonstrations, business networking opportunities, and industry-related activities, the expo facilitates market access for local businesses and encourages greater appreciation for products derived from sustainably managed forest resources. It also supports the Government’s efforts to diversify the national economy by strengthening the value-added wood processing sector and promoting local entrepreneurship.
A significant milestone achieved during the expo was the introduction of the Brunei Wood Product branding initiative, which was officially launched to establish a distinctive identity for locally manufactured wood products. The branding initiative aims to enhance the visibility, credibility, and marketability of Brunei-made wood products, both domestically and internationally. By providing a recognizable mark of origin and quality, the initiative contributes towards strengthening consumer confidence and supporting the long-term development of the national timber industry.
The expo also serves as a platform to highlight the Forestry Department’s commitment to sustainable forest management and the responsible utilization of forest resources. Through engagement with industry players and the public, the event promotes innovation, value addition, and the use of locally sourced timber while encouraging greater collaboration among stakeholders within the wood products supply chain.

The Wood Products Expo 2024, held from 17 to 20 October 2024, marked a significant achievement for the Forestry Department and the local timber industry. The four-day event showcased a wide range of locally manufactured wood products, featured woodworking demonstrations and furniture-making competitions, and provided opportunities for industry engagement and public outreach. The event further reinforced the Forestry Department’s ongoing efforts to promote sustainable economic development through the advancement of Brunei’s downstream wood products industry.
For this year, it is held at the International Convention Centre, Berakas in conjunction with the 33rd Consumer Fair.
