its part
in
supporting
the
Heart of
BOrneo
(HOB) 1
Million
Tree
Project,
doing so
by
planting
100
saplings
at the
Badas
Forest
Reserve
area in
Seria
yesterday.
The
environmental
effort
was part
of the
Brunei
LNG
Healthy
Lifestyle
Programme
(HLP)
called
the 'MD
Fun
Run.'
The
event
was
attended
by BLNG
Managing
Director
Haji
Salleh
Bostaman
bin Haji
Zainal
Abidin.
Nearly
100
employees
together
with
their
family
members
joined
in the
Fun'Run,
which
required
them to
walk
five
kilometres
from the
Badas
raw
station
into the
forest
reserve
area and
assist
in the
planting
of 100 `Sampilau'
and `Agatis'
saplings.

that the
activity
would
encourage
Brunei
LNG
employees
and
their
families
to be
environmentally
conscious.
Yesterday
marked
the
first
phase of
Brunei
LNG's
commitment
in its
tree
planting
mission.
Personnel
from the
Forestry
Department
also
assisted
in the
tree-planting
activity,
improving
inter-working
relations
between
Brunei
LNG and
the
government
sector.
"Caring
for the
environment
is one
of
Brunei
LNG's
main
priorities.
We
started
the
monitoring
of the
environmental
performance
in the
form of
effluent-
ground
water
monitoring
and
waste
management
as part
of our
core
operation
back in
the
early
days of
its
operations,"
said
Hajah
Zainab.
Brunei
LNG is
also
adopting
the
implementation
of best
practice
in waste
management,
where
waste
oil,
empty
drums,
paper,
bulbs as
well as
industrial
batteries
are
recycled.
Brunei
LNG also
operates
its own
temporary
waste
oil
storage
area and
mercury
storage
area and
have
dedicated
colour
coded
skips
and bins
to
segregate
waste. |
